The RTA has announced timings for all of the public transport services in Dubai over the holiday period. Eid al Adha runs from Thursday 31st August until Sunday 3rd September and the timings for Dubai Metro were announced by Yousef al Rida, CEO of Corporate Administrative Support Services, RTA, as follows:
“During the Eid holiday, the Dubai Metro Red Line Stations will operate on Thursday 31st August from 5:30 am to 2:00 am (of the following day) and on Friday 1 September from 10:00 am to 2:00 am (of the following day). On Saturday 2 September 2017, these stations will operate from 5:50 am up to 2:00 am (of the following day), and on Sunday 3 September 2017 from 5:30 am up to 2:00 am (of the following day). The Express Metro Service will not be available on Saturday 2 September 2017.
The Green Line stations will operate on Thursday 31st August 2017 from 5:50 am up to 2:00 am (of the following day). On Friday 1 September 2017, these stations will open from 10:00 am to 2:00 am (of the following day), and from Saturday 2 September to Sunday 3 September 2017 from 5:50 am to 2:00 am (of the following day).”
Therefore the Metro will run for an extra 2 hours on Wednesday and Saturday and an extra hour in the evenings of Thursday and Friday over the holiday period. This will enable those who are enjoying the festivities to travel home over a longer period.
Also, car parking (with the exception of multi-storey car parks) will also be free over Eid.
