Added to this the Dubai Tram will also be open non-stop over December 31st to January 1st.

Burj Khalifa Metro to Close Early on New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve 2015:

The RTA has announced that the Burj Khalifa Metro station will close at 10pm on New Year’s Eve to aid the congestion that is likely to occur with all the visitors to the Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa area.

Extra public transport facilities will be added to the mix so that all revellers are able to travel to and from the area easily. This includes more buses and police manned crossings to get people across the roads safely.

Anyone who wishes to travel to the area after 10pm should alight at either the Financial Centre or the Business Bay stations where they will be able to board feeder buses to the Burj Khalifa area.

The RTA have also said that Metro operating hours will be extended on New Year’s Eve.

100 Dirham Fine in Gold Class

If you are using the Gold Class cabins without paying for a gold class ticket then you are now likely to be fined 100 dirhams for this offence.

The RTA have tightened up their checks on those people who just scan through the barriers with their silver Nol card and then show a gold one when they are on the Metro, by now scanning all tickets in the gold class cabin to ensure that is the ticket that the fare was paid with.

So, if you travel in the Gold Class cabin then you need to make sure that you have used a gold class nol card to get into the Metro in the first place.
