The RTA has announced the the Dubai Metro will have extended opening hours and more frequent trains for New Year’s Eve this year (2011). After a bit of chaos last year the move has been brought in to help ease any possible congestion problems in the Burj Khalifa area in particular, which will be a focus point for a lot of celebrations on New Year’s Eve.
The Dubai Metro will run until 5.30am on 1st January and trains will be very frequent, running at every 3 minutes. There will also be increased frequency of bus services and a large number of taxis deployed all night.
